Games For Kid's Birthday Parties

By Freddy McCandless

For little kids, a birthday party would not be a birthday party without having party games. So here are some to help you out, whether your little one is a pre-schooler or is on the brink of turning into a tween.

Pre-Schooler Games

When it comes to the tiniest of the group, you can in no way go wrong with musical chairs. Simple and easy enough for a pre schooler to do but super interesting for even the adults. All you have to do is fix chairs in a circle. There ought to be one more player than the number of chairs. Basically, you dance around the chairs in sort of like a mambo line while the music is playing, but once it stops, you have to aim to beat the others to a chair. Whoever remains standing is out of the game. With every round, someone loses, a chair is removed, up until there are two players fighting over one chair. The person sitting when the music fades is the winner.

Balloon pop is second on the list. Basically, what you hear is what you get. You release a number of balloons on the floor or wide area then allow the children start sitting on them and popping them. However if you want to make things a tad bit more competitive, you can allow the little ones play in teams. The team to pop all of the balloons first is the winner.

Games For 5-8 Year Old Kids

Newspaper dance is always a big hit. Practically, you have to pair up the kids in twos, and give them a newspaper. Play some music and have the little ones dance around the paper. When the music stops, both have to stand on the newspaper providing that both feet fit without touching the floor. You fold the newspaper in half with each turn. Kids with feet touching the ground are out. The last pair standing is the winner.

Another game played by pairs is funny bone. Basically, you give the players a set of body parts that they have to connect. For example, you say the finger is connected to the ear. So A will get his finger and make it touch B's ear. What makes this hard is that the players have to hold their poses unless the body part is used again. Those who fail to do so are out. The lasting pair is the winner.

Games For 9-12 Year Olds

Scavenger hunt always guarantees a lot of fun. This is just the kind of game that appeals to older kids , but if played in teams, the younger ones can join too. Basically, you have to prepare clues and tasks that lead to other clues and tasks. The players will also be given a check list of products that they should complete along the way. The team to complete everything on the list first is the winner.

Another easy yet super fun game is the longest line. This game, also done in teams, is basically about making the longest line- using bodies, clothes, shoelaces, or practically anything the players can find. Setting the limit on the items that can be used is up to you. You have to time the game for around 5-10 minutes. When the given time has run out, the team with the longest line is the winner. Just make sure that you have a wide area ready for this game.

At this point, these are a few of the most popular games there are. So add them to your itinerary and throw your kiddo one heck of a birthday.
