Get Better Results With Licensed Pomeranian Breeders

By John Miller

There is a lot of responsibility and a lifetime commitment involved in raising a dog, so a decision of this magnitude should not be made in haste or without consideration. One will need to select a breed whose grooming needs, size, health concerns, and typical behaviors, are all compatible with where one lives and their daily schedule. Licensed Pomeranian breeders in Oklahoma City, OK - or those of other breeds - are a person's best chance to get pups that are healthy and of the highest quality.

There is no shortage of people advertising the sale of purebred puppies, and pet stores are overloaded with adorable little fuzz balls melting hearts in kennels. The problem is that many of these animals are the result of impure breeding or the product of inhumane puppy farms. Both of these practices are focused more on profit than on the health of the dogs, which are not always treated with the best intentions.

There is a long list of reasons why it is best for interested parties to not shop for puppies in shops or markets, and to avoid dealing with any breeder who does not have proper credentials. These inhumane breeding practices will continue as long as they are supported, and the buyer is very likely to end up with a very expensive pup with health conditions that were avoidable. The only way to guarantee one receives the purebred dog they desire is to purchase from a qualified source.

Before entering into any type of contract, there are some factors an individual would be wise to verify about the breeder. Although time consuming and a little extra work, doing research on suppliers is worth it for investment protection and puppy health.

The first thing to consider is the credentials of the breeder. Breed associations and kennel clubs are quite particular about those they will endorse and have the strictest of standards. Searches can begin with these groups and anyone who has not passed the requirements put forth by such entities would probably not be a reliable source.

The next would be their history. This involves various factors such as how long they have been operating, customer relations, health records of their dogs, and paperwork verifying the bloodlines. It is wise to read both positive and negative reviews from previous clients and to contact a few of them directly if possible, in order to get a more realistic view of said supplier.

Another huge factor of consideration is the conditions both the adults and pups are housed. These animals need to have ample room to play and move about in a clean space, have a nutritious diet, and it is extremely important that a female not be bred too frequently. Whenever possible, interested individuals could find benefit in physically visiting the facility to review these things.

Finally, consider the willingness of the breeder to be helpful and the level of concern for the pups. Those that are truly dedicated are going to want to interview the buyer as well in order to ensure their puppies are going to be properly cared for in the future. They will also willingly provide health verification and guarantees, along with certified papers on the canine bloodlines.
