In many cases, these artists can be seen painting on canvas in gardens, parks or on hills overlooking the ocean. For, these areas often provide a great deal of scenery which can be captured and captivating in paintings.

Whether painting an ocean scene with waves crashing against the rocks, the crooked Lombard street in San Francisco featuring the glow of lamplights or an object in a fixed pose, these artists have a knack for bringing a painting to life through the use of colors, light and shadow. For, by using these techniques, the elements of a painting come together, often resembling works of the original French Impressionists.

As such, there have been artists working in Europe, Italy and the United States for quite some time. Whether during the early days, or in the present, artists working in this genre are well known for work which is breathtakingly beautiful and unique.

In the case of the early French Impressionists, there were many critics who disapproved of the style. Whereas, there were others whom believed the style captured originality and vision.
