By Carmella Watts

Even small children should read historical non fiction books. These novels will broaden their minds and enable them to learn about different cultures and people. Bookstores across the world will more than likely carry many titles which deal with this very important subject.

Someone who has a unique interest in America during the days of slavery may want to read about Harriet Tubman. This woman has many selections written about her which are all very positive and educational. One manuscript titled "Moses" deals with her life and struggles.

Hebrews who were under the Pharaoh would indeed compare her to their new leader Moses. Moses was also a man who was determined to free his people from a life of injustice. The underground railroad was one mission that Ms. Tubman was able to build and complete before her life ended. Through this system she was able to free thousands of blacks from bondage.

"The Real Elizabeth" deals with the current Queen of England. This title tells about her life and all of the complications that she has endured. It takes a very poignant look at her family and how she is always able to keep things together even in the most dire times.

Individuals who reside in England love their Queen and all of her family members. They take the time to celebrate her birthday and any other events that are important to her. This novel takes a close look at all of those events and her very beautiful family members. Someone can learn more about Charles, Andrew, Sarah and Diana from just reading these writings. There are plenty of photographs included throughout the pages which anyone can truly appreciate. "Princess Diana" is another manuscript which gives a personal glimpse into the lives of this Royal Family.

George Washington had an amazing time when he was elected as the first President of the United States. This is one man who was very smooth when it came to politics and everyone seemed to be on his side. "His Excellency" tells his story in quite a few chapters that will bring a smile to anyone's face. He is considered to be the "father" of America and this title is well deserved. During his time in office he was also a man who used his power to get anything or anybody that he wanted. Like many other famous men he was known to have quite a few mistresses.

There is a very sad title called "The Diary of Anne Frank." Within these pages the readers will hear the tale of a Jewish girl who was taken away from life too young. She did her best to communicate with the average person through this valuable diary.

Historical non fiction books are quite important to have around. Young people everywhere need to know their history and which role everyone played in it. Sometimes bad history has a habit of repeating itself if people do not learn from it. These very famous figures are all considered positive role models even though each of them have good and bad points. This only shows that they are all truly human.
